Concord Hospitality Associates Donate 6,000 Volunteer Hours During Annual Share Day

Nearly 5,000 associates in 83 cities participate in day of giving on Nov. 18

RALEIGH, N.C. (Nov. 19, 2021) – For the 13th year in a row, Concord Hospitality Enterprises associates joined together for a day of giving known as Share Day. All 139 Concord Hospitality hotels across North America – including 23 states and two Canadian provinces – and the corporate office dedicated time to charitable activities during the event, donating more than 6,000 volunteer hours during a single day on Nov. 18.

Similar to 2020’s Share Day, each property and the corporate office volunteered in their local communities, totaling 4,920 associates across 83 cities. From volunteering at food banks to organizing clothing drives, assisting at homeless and animal rescue shelters and participating in neighborhood and beach clean ups, Share Day 2021 aligned with Concord’s charitable mission to provide food and shelter to people in need in the communities where associates live and work.

“It is an absolute joy each and every year to see our associates come together for a day of giving and comradery, embracing our mantra: We are Concord and we care to share,” said Debra Punke, Chief Human Resource Officer at Concord Hospitality. “The hospitality industry has faced a number of challenges over the past 20 months as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Nonetheless, our associates have persevered and maintained a positive outlook. Our annual Share Day is yet another testament to our resiliency and commitment to giving back to our communities and neighbors. Together, we can make a difference.”

Since the inaugural Share Day in 2009, Concord Hospitality associates have raised more than $1 million dollars, donated nearly 50,000 hours of service, distributed 3 million meals and refurbished 40 homes. The annual event aligns with Concord’s commitment to not only providing industry-leading hotel management and development expertise but also making it possible for associates to partake in a rich and vibrant culture established and propelled by its five cornerstones of delivering quality, living with integrity, supporting the community, growing profitability and having fun.
