Concord Hospitality Announces “PureStay by Concord” Cleanliness Initiative

RALEIGH, N.C. (Aug. 11, 2020) – Concord Hospitality Enterprises, an award-winning hotel development and management company, has announced the launch of the new cleaning protocols in their hotels, branded as “PureStay by Concord.” Developed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic to ensure the health and safety of guests and associates at Concord properties across North America, the program outlines procedures for guest room and public space cleanliness and protocols.

“Concord has a long-standing reputation for having the highest standards in hotel hygiene and cleanliness as the health and safety of our guests and associates has always been a top priority,” said Mark Laport, President, and CEO of Concord Hospitality. “Our commitment to the cleanliness of our hotels is unwavering as we strive to continue exceeding industry procedures and be a leader in the hospitality space by implementing additional measures through ‘PureStay by Concord.’”

“PureStay by Concord” focuses on hotel cleanliness and protocols, as well as the education and training of associates. All participating Concord hotels are using enhanced cleaning and disinfecting products and procedures to clean rooms after each guest departs and before the next guest arrives, with particular attention to high-touch items. Associate room entry has been limited during a guest’s stay. The frequency of cleaning and disinfection of public spaces has increased, with a focus on the counters at front desks, elevators and buttons, public bathrooms, and room keys, among other spaces and items. Concord has increased the availability of sanitizing wipes and hand sanitizer stations throughout its hotels. The company is also requiring elevated frequency and cleaning of back-of-house spaces, including associate entrances, locker rooms, laundry rooms, and staff offices.

Every hotel associate is educated on the essentials of an effective cleaning program, ensuring a top-to-bottom commitment and understanding of 360-degree sanitation. This includes essentials such as hand hygiene, participation in ongoing training and educational programs, and social distancing requirements. Each property has a dedicated “Cleanliness Champion” to lead the hotel’s commitment to sanitation. Concord has also enacted a stay home policy as part of “PureStay by Concord,” which requires any associate who is feeling unwell or exhibiting any symptoms to stay home and self-quarantine.

Additionally, Concord has pledged its commitment to the American Hotel & Lodging Association’s Safe Stay Program through its “PureStay by Concord” guidelines. Developed in conjunction with public health experts, scientists, and medical leaders, all Concord properties are committed to the best practices outlined by the AH&LA, which include:

  • Enhanced cleaning standards throughout the hotel, including guest rooms, meeting spaces, common areas, and back-of-house spaces
  • Superior cleaning products with a greater concentration of bacteria-killing ingredients, in accordance with CDC guidelines
  • Social distancing practices and reduced person-to-person contact
  • Increased transparency throughout the guest journey
