Concord Hospitality to manage Four Points Kingston, Ontario

The Melo family developed and built the Four Points Hotel in Kingston from the ground up, starting with the lower Clarence Street property which was once the site of the historic British American Hotel.

Venicio Rebelo of the Melo Hotel Group commented that “The Melo family is proud of the Four Points Hotel, its employees, and their reputation for outstanding customer service.” Mr. Rebelo also said “We have been watching the recent trends in the hospitality business and the Kingston market very closely in the past few years. We think now is the right time to move the ownership of this hotel into a bigger, successful hospitality group with a reputation for excellent service. Select and Concord fit that bill.”

“Select has made this commitment because of the strong future we see in Kingston.” said Eric Spindler, the President of Select. He said “We are really looking forward to continuing to build the great hospitality business started by Joe Melo and carried on by his children at the Four Points.”

The Four Points will be managed by Concord, which now operates 73 hotels in the United States, reaching across 22 States, and 11 hotels in Canada. Mark Laport, the President of Concord said that “With Concord’s emphasis on quality, integrity and contribution to the communities in which it operates, we think the Four Points in Kingston will be a great addition to our Canadian business. We think the Melos and their people have done a great job with this hotel, and we think the current employees will be a big part of our future in Kingston.”
