RALEIGH, N.C., July 8, 2013—Officials with Concord Hospitality Enterprises, one of the nation’s top-ranked hotel developer/owner/operators, today announced the promotion of Matt McClelland to senior vice president, select service operations. Most recently, he served the company as vice president, capital assets. In his new role, McClelland will assume responsibility for the operational performance and brand execution of Concord’s 86 select service and extended stay hotels.

“Matt is a born leader and a natural operations pro,” said Nick Kellock, Concord’s chief operating officer. “Over a 20-plus year career, Matt has amassed an impressive catalog of credentials, both strategically and operationally, most recently overseeing capital improvements across our portfolio. I am thrilled to appoint such a dedicated, enthusiastic hotelier to head up this vital segment of our business and ensure that we continue to infuse future hotels with Concord’s culture and standards of excellence.”

Following eight years with Marriott, McClelland joined Concord in 1997 as director of operations for the Marriott in West Des Moines, Iowa. “Concord has a cultural foundation that supports career growth and solid business values and as a result, we have some of the best people you would ever want to work with,” said McClelland. “I have been a part of building that culture for the last 15 years. I look forward to making it my full time mission to further entrench our hotels and our associates in that operating philosophy. I know it pays remarkable dividends on both a business and individual level.”
