Carl Hren Named Senior Vice President of Architecture and Construction

RALEIGH, N.C. (Aug. 6, 2018) Concord Hospitality Enterprises, a leading hospitality owner, manager and developer, is proud to announce that Carl Hren has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Architecture and Construction. In his new position, Hren will be responsible for all design, purchasing and construction for ground-up and renovation projects for the hospitality and lodging company.

Carl Hren“Carl has been an instrumental member of our architecture and construction team since he joined Concord Hospitality and he currently manages more than $1.5 billion in development for the company,” said Mark Laport, President and CEO of Concord Hospitality. “Carl’s team successfully constructed our first modular hotel, the AC Hotel by Marriott in Louisville. In fact, building modular not only provided a great quality property, but saved us three months on the construction schedule and was well under budget. This allowed us to open the AC NuLu one week before the 2018 Kentucky Derby – the perfect time to welcome guests to this new and unique hotel.”

Hren joined Concord Hospitality in 2013 as Vice President of Architecture and Construction, bringing with him a wealth of experience having managed both ground-up and renovation projects across the country, as well as having worked on the general contractor and ownership sides of project management. Previously, Hren worked for White Lodging as Director of Construction for seven years where he was honored as the 2009 Investments and Development Leader of the Year. Hren graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Construction Management from Marquette University.

“I am proud of what the Concord Hospitality team has accomplished since I started working with them five years ago, and I look forward to continuing to play a part in the growth of the company in the years to come,” Hren said. “Our appetite for development is quickly growing to larger and more complex projects, like our full-service development at the Infinite Energy Center in Atlanta. Lifestyle, full-service and boutique hotels, both urban and complex in nature, are becoming the status quo for Concord Hospitality. Our development team is more than ready to continue to bring projects in according to our department motto ‘QSB’ – quality, schedule and budget.”
