MARRIOTT BRANDED HOTEL BREAKS THROUGH AKRONS SKYLINE
Testa Companies, Inc., one of the fastest growing privately owned construction companies in the US, teamed up with Concord Hospitality, a leading owner and operator of hotels in the US to announce today that construction of the 146-room Courtyard by Marriott hotel in downtown Akron, Ohio has begun “skyward.” As opposed to a traditional groundbreaking event, the “sky breaking” marks the start of hotel construction skyward 10 stories above the Northside mixed-use development located at 41 Furnace Street. The Courtyards innovative design will be the perfect complement to the Northside Loft development and Arts District.
The Northside Courtyard by Marriott in downtown Akron will feature the brand’s latest progressive room design that will provide travelers comfortable space for relaxation and functional zones and technology for work. The Courtyard’s custom lobby space is ideal for everything from pop-up meetings to social gatherings, and will include a twenty-two seat Home Movie Theater with the comforts of leather reclining seating to elevate their travel experience.
Akron city officials, community and business leaders, members of the tourism community and development partners will join for the unique “sky breaking” ceremony that marks the start of hotel construction.
