Concord Named Best Workplace for Women 2017

Concord Hospitality Named a Best Workplace for Women for Second Consecutive Year

RALEIGH, N.C. (Sept. 19, 2017) – Consulting firm Great Place to Work® and Fortune have announced Concord Hospitality Enterprises Company – a leading hospitality owner, manager and developer – as one of the country’s 100 Best Workplaces for Women in 2017. This marks the second consecutive year Concord has received this prestigious designation.
Concord Hospitality was named a Great Place to Work® for the second consecutive year, and was also recognized as one of the 100 Best Workplaces for Millennials in June. Concord Hospitality is one of just five hospitality companies to receive this year’s designation, and it is the only independent hotel developer and operator to do so. Other hospitality companies recognized include Hyatt Hotels, Hilton Worldwide and Marriott International.

Research from Great Place to Work has shown that women are five times more likely to plan a long-term future with their employers when they are treated as full members of the team, regardless of position. The Best Workplaces for Women also set themselves apart from competitors in other important ways: 95 percent of women at these organizations describe them as friendly, and the same share say they are proud to tell others where they work.

“Gender parity in the workplace should be a priority not just because it is the right thing to do, but also because it represents a huge business opportunity,” said Debra Punke, Senior Vice President of Human Capital for Concord Hospitality. “Research shows that gender-balanced teams have better business outcomes when it comes to engagement, productivity and retention.”
