Misty Ross joined Concord Hospitality in 2008 and has over 19 years of experience within the hospitality industry. The majority of her focus has been within the sales & marketing discipline covering a variety of brands within full service hotels, independent boutique hotels and select service hotels. Originally from New Jersey, her career started in1998 and in the summer of 2008, she relocated her family to Raleigh North Carolina to join the pre-opening team for The Renaissance Raleigh. Her previous positions with hospitality management include; Reservations, Sales Administration, Sales Manager, Senior Sales Manager, Director of Sales, and Area Director of Sales & Marketing. Her most recent transition within our company was in 2013 when she became our Area Director of Sales and Marketing overseeing our Raleigh hotels including; The Renaissance Raleigh North Hills, Marriott Crabtree Valley and Hyatthouse North Hills and our newest addition the AC Hotel North Hills. Having worked in various markets she has extensive experience within numerous hotel segments including; business transient, corporate group conferences, the association market, youth and professional sports teams. She has also worked alongside many top pharmaceutical companies such as Merck, Valeant, sanofi-aventis, Novartis, Pfizer, and GlaxoSmithKlein assisting them with new product launches, sales trainings, conferences and their overall travel needs. She has received awards including Concord Hospitality’s Sales Leader of the Year, Hotel of the Year, Marriott’s President Circle, and Full Service Sales Team of the Year. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Medicine from Xavier University and enjoys spending free time with her friends, family and her 11 year old son Brennan.
Dan Freeland joined Concord in 2013. He is a 25-year veteran of the hospitality industry holding executive positions in various segments including resorts, premium hotel brands, independent and luxury hotels. He led the $30M+ repositioning of the Raleigh Marriott Crabtree Valley as General Manager prior to being promoted to Regional Vice President. His teams are recipients of awards including Concord’s Sales Team of the Year, Food & Beverage Team of the Year, Marriott’s GM of the Year among others. Prior to joining Concord in 2013, he held positions of Regional VP, General Manager and Dir of Openings & Acquisitions including 20 years with Marriott International. Dan serves on the Executive Board of Directors for the Greater Raleigh CVB, Board of Advisors for the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce, Board of Directors of the Meals on Wheels-Wake County, Association of Executives of NC and Wake County Hospitality Alliance. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the Strome College of Business at Old Dominion University.
Kristie Byrd joined Concord in 2011 and currently oversees the Sales & Marketing efforts for Concord’s Western Region, spanning from Texas to Canada. Kristie has held executive positions within Marriott International and Concord for over 15 years.
Kristie has sales experience with independent hotels and a range of brands including Marriott, Hilton, Choice, Hyatt, and IHG. Kristie has received numerous awards for sales achievement and produced numerous award-winning sales teams recognized by Marriott International and Hilton. She is a certified facilitator of training for Marriott International for multiple disciplines and National Schools. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Communication from Sam Houston State University
Mark Laport founded Concord Hospitality Enterprises Company in 1985. Since then, he has led Concord as both a hotel management company and an active developer of hotels. His leadership and entrepreneurial vigor have earned Concord recognition as one of the largest hospitality companies in North America with hotels in both the US and Canada. His aptitude for locating, developing and operating hotels in niche markets has been crucial to Concord Hospitality’s remarkable sustained growth.
Thanks in large part to Mark’s leadership, Concord Hospitality has been honored with numerous Industry awards over the years and is a ten time winner of Marriott’s Partnership Circle Award, the company’s highest honor for hospitality excellence. Additionally, Marriott and Hyatt has presented Concord with their Developer of the Year Award. Notably, Mark was honored as The School of Hospitality Business at Michigan State University Leader of the Year 2015.
Mark has served key roles on various franchise committees, ranging from full service to select service hotel brands. He has been a Chairman of the Courtyard by Marriott Franchise Advisory Council and is currently a member of the Renaissance Franchise Advisory Committee, as well as being a member of the Canopy Owner Advisory Council and the AC Hotel Brand Advisory Council.
Mark holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Mount Union College and a Master of Science degree in Hotel and Tourism Management from the Rochester Institute of Technology
Bringing with him more than 41 years of experience in general construction, construction management and development, Richard Branca reviews all potential Hotel Developments for investment & constructability, concentrating on all facets of hotel documentation from conception to completion. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural Engineering and Business Administration from the University of Colorado and is a professionally licensed engineer in the states of New Jersey, Colorado and Texas.
Nick Kellock joined Concord in September of 2008 as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer responsible for overall performance and corporate strategy. Previously, he served as Senior Vice President of CFRST Franchising for Marriott International’s select service brands including Courtyard, Fairfield Inn, Residence Inn, SpringHill Suites and TownePlace Suites. During his tenure at Marriott International, he facilitated the franchising of over 1,600 hotels. Through his career, he has also served as Marriott’s Group Vice President for Select Service Brands, Brand Vice President and in various senior management positions with Whitbread Hotel Company in the United Kingdom. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in hotel management from Bournemouth University in the United Kingdom. Mr. Kellock currently sits on owner advisory boards for Marriott, Hyatt and Hilton as well as the American Hotel and Lodging Association.
Julie Richter joined Concord in July, 2007. Prior to joining Concord, she was Vice President and Controller of Boykin Lodging Company, a publicly traded hospitality real estate investment trust, for five years, and she was an Audit Manager with Arthur Andersen LLP for eight years before joining Boykin. She holds a Master of Science in Accounting from the University of Central Florida.
